The initial meeting of the “Eco patrols 4 environmental goals” project in Šibenik

Last week, from the 20th to the 24th.March 2023 in Šibenik, we held the initial meeting of the “Eco patrols 4 Environmental Goals” project financed by the European Union as part of the Erasmus + program.

The holder of this project is our association Argonauta, and at the meeting in Šibenik, we also met live with our project partners, the associations Kreator from North Macedonia, Environmental Protection Engineers from Serbia, Punta Campanella from Italy and Mindenegyüttmegy Egyesület from Hungary.

The “Eco patrols 4 Environmental Goals” project will be aimed at developing the competencies of partner organizations that work to raise awareness of the challenges related to the environment and climate change, and was created based on the Blue Eco Patrol project (https://eko-patrola.org /) which Argonauta carried out locally in the area of Šibenik – Knin County when it formed the so-called Eco patrols made by students who were taught about various environmental topics using informal learning methods. Through this work, a manual was created that is available to everyone who works with young people and who wants to process and teach environmental topics in an interesting and innovative way.

The project that we started with the meeting in Šibenik will also work on the publication of manuals on informal education on environmental topics, but this time for slightly older children, i.e. young people aged 14 to 18, in the territory and languages of the 5 project partner countries, i.e. Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, and North Macedonia. Pilot Eco Patrols will also be formed in these countries, dealing with environmental topics according to the mentioned manual.

A digital dimension will be added to the project collaboration and an e-educational game (with a hard copy version) will be developed and implemented through the project, which will be a teaser to encourage young people to take civic actions related to challenges in the field of environment and climate change.

The project will last two years, and this meeting in Šibenik was only the first in a series of meetings to achieve all the goals we set for ourselves with this project.
