An international meeting for the development of informal learning methods on environmental topics in Ohrid, North Macedonia

Last week, from June 19 to 24, 2023, an international meeting of partners of the Eco Patrols 4 Environmental Goals project was held, financed by the European Union through the Erasmus + program.

The meeting took place in Ohrid, North Macedonia, and its goal was to present the work of partners from North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Italy on modules (8 in total) that will contain a manual on environmental topics for working with young people aged 14 to 18 years in a non-formal way.

Each of the partners presented and tested their assigned modules, after which the other partners commented on what works in the presented modules and what should be left for the final version, and what still needs to be worked on and possibly changed.

The result of this international meeting was achieved, which means that we received the pre-final version of the Manual on environmental topics for working with young people aged 14 to 18 in non-formal way. The topics that will be covered in it are diverse, so it will cover different aspects of ecology and sustainable ways of behavior and action in different segments; water, food, waste management, eco-literacy, biodiversity, activism, climate change…

Before the manual is finalized, it will be tested once again together with teachers, professors, youth workers, educators and others who use or want to use non-formal teaching methods on environmental topics in their daily work.

The manual itself should be finalized and printed by the end of the year in 6 languages; English, Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian, Italian, and Hungarian.
